Add "Returning Guest" label on repeat bookings

Add a label e.g. Return Guest or Returning Guest for new bookings made by guests who previously booked with the same Uplisting account owner.

I'd also be happy if this was just a manual tickbox - although if Mark Petrillo's idea is feasible of automatically catching email / phone numbers that were previously recorded then that would be great if it would tick itself upon occasion.

III think this is one case where you may want to provide a manual flag to enable/disable/override whatever detection logic you use.Often times people will book under a girlfriends/husband/friends name but tell us they are a returning visitor.

Any thoughts on how we identify a returning guest? Via their email address and/or phone number?

Vince Breslin: not email because Airbnb assigns their own address. It could be last name? If more than 1 appears then we could sort those on our own. Using a phone the cell number could fail if a partners number was used in the reservation the second time. Others may have a better suggestion.

Vince Breslin: It cannot be based on the name, because not all John Smiths are the same person. I would say if any (not all) of the following data match previous reservations (for all properties a host operates), they could safely be identified as a repeat guest:
-Email Address
-Phone Number
-Profile Photo
While this may not be perfect, it will catch the vast majority of cases and there should be no false positives. If someone books from a spouse's account, for example, there would be no way to identify this. It is what it is.

laura oxman: for Airbnb we can use the user id so that's easy enough at least. Although, ideally your guests are booking direct from the second booking.

Vince Breslin: Hi Vince . When I initially suggested it, I just meant a drop down be provided on the direct booking source drop down on our front page of a booking. I noticed that was added to the front page and presume there will be or is a report that will collate this information. I could not understand why it was so hard to just put the drop down addition of "return guest" and now also maybe "facebook advert" or marketing as an additional drop down. You have all gone well beyond what I was originally requesting and if it is possible great.. Otherwise I am happy to just have the option of it being included on the drop down option of direct booking source. When I re read Luv's post after I requested it, just now, I am now interpreting that she is saying the guest would put in how they are booking. i.e. website, advertisement,. return guest etc. If that is the case and you didn't want to go any higher at this stage, the host can simply search for them as a prior guest if they don't recognize the name and then offer them something as a return guest if they wish to. Yes please. On a different note I don't suppose there would be any way their information could be prefilled like name, phone, email and if they had previously signed an e rental agreement. Otherwise just happy to have return guest put on Direct booking source.

Sandra Lee Fitch: This is definitely something we want to provide but is a big feature as it's effectively a guest relationship management feature. This is on our minds though.
