Really need this. We had two almost $9,000 bookings through Booking.com which both guests cancelled and we had to refund… hundreds of dollars lost to stripe fees. Making me look at other platforms to Uplisting.

We have lost nearly $1000 in Stripe processing fees in 3months with booking.com cancellations. We are looking at alternate PMS as debilitating for small business. Not sure why a condition can not be set. Stripe is also a lot more expensive than eg Bpoint or Secure pay.

Vince Breslin... Is there any chance we can get an update on this? VRBO now pay a deposit which is great and the balance as per cancellation policy, why can't we do this with BDC? We are now trialling BDC taking payments from one of our properties as this current system between Uplisting and BDC isn't working for us and many others. Some feedback would be appreciated please.

Wendy Maleary: it’s really disappointing that this still hasn’t been addressed. We continue to get sooo many cancellations as a result. It’s actually costing us money not just in lost revenue but in Stripe fees for the payments charged!

Colin Ball: Hi Colin, It is to be fair, so many times he has been asked but with no response, we have now turned over to BDC to take all our payments, we were spending far too long refunding and raising credit notes, I am about to refund 2.5K this morning from a guest who cancelled, there are a couple of things popping up on here that are raising an eyebrow with me, bugs affecting things etc.. looks great on the surface but needs more work I think.

Wendy Maleary: How are you finding using Booking.com Payments? I have typically stayed away from letting them handle my payments as I dont trust them. Especially after they stopped paying out for 6 weeks last year!

Colin Ball: So far so good, they used to pay us years ago but we waited too long for the payments, think it was 30 days after departure, they seem to have changed things up now and the pay out every Thurs now so it is normally approx 7 - 10 days after the guest leaves, we are early days with this but it means we don't have the money until they guest either stays or is out of free cancellation period so we can't see money in the bank that potentially we need to refund. We are hoping it continues without a hitch.. It's reduced my workload too! No more raising credit notes and refunding all the time.. Our direct guests pay us a 10% deposit then the balance 14 days before and that 10% deposit works as we don't get cancellations on direct bookings whereas we got a lot on BDC due to the amounts we took in advance.

Any Update available ? If we can do this on VRBO now and Direct why can't we schedule payments on Booking.Com? There needs to be a delay in taking the payment when BDC guests have booked, we need to be able to decide when we take payment, ideally when the free cancellation period runs out. Can we please get a response to this..

Vince Breslin - Can we please have an update on this, I am sick and tired of raising credit notes and refunding guests when they see they have paid the full balance on booking, it is creating cancellations and causing more work. There seems to be a few people wanting this so an update would be very helpful. Thanks

We really need this. We are losing a lot of bookings and constantly refunding bookings and apologising to guests that will now never stay with us. I see that it was originally requested 2 years ago, this really needs to become a focus please.

Colin Ball: It looks like Vince raised this ticket in Oct 21 but nothing has happened, Do they need more people to vote do you think? I have no idea but this is the 1 part of Uplisting that doesn't work for us, we will see what happens over the coming months but we may rethink channel managers.

Wendy Maleary: More votes will definitely help. I agree, it really doesn't work for us. I have raised it directly with Vince and Roddy, who has said that he will look into it and come back to me, so I am hoping we can gain a bit of traction on a resolution.

Nika Lee: We are refunding and raising credit notes constantly because of this, we are thinking of going back to BDC taking payments as a consequence. Guests cancelling because they paid it all up front when the cancellation period is 30 days before This isn't ideal at all, we need this implementing, this is the biggest issue we have using Uplisting.. It needs to work for us and at the mo, this part isnt.

UPDATED - Any idea if this will be looked at? We can do this on Uplisting direct bookings but we need to do this on BDC and VRBO.. We are forever refunding for cancelled bookings within the free cancellation period, this is creating work for us, and guest paying out full amount upfront, I believe this creates cancellations as some can't pay it all out straight away so cancel to get the money back. We are taking bookings, payment is taken immediately then they are cancelling an hour later so I have to then raise an invoice and credit note to offset the money taken and refunded. There is no period of time before the payment is taken... can we please look at this?

Desperately needed thanks!!!. I have had so many VRBO cancellations and with 100% taken for big peak times, that I have been absorbing high credit card fees. My credit card fees for cancellations has become so bad that I wish I did not go with VRBO at all. Same for Booking .com.. Plus bad for the guest to have to outlay so much in advance.
