Dan Kavanagh you'll have to provide an example, as I cannot see how I can do this through custom tags.
Use case:
We send out a confirmation message when we get a booking. Our message template currently reads something like: "Hi {guest_first_name}, thank you for your booking between {check_in_date} and {check_out_date}...". The message template needs to be the same irrespective of property or booking channel.
Currently, if Jo Bloggs books on 18th Nov 2025 for 23-26 Dec 2027 (ie over a year ahead), then the confirmation message will read "Hi Jo, thank you for your booking between 23rd December and 26th December..."
Please can you detail how custom message tags can be used to change this message to "Hi Jo, thank you for your booking between 23rd December 2027 and 26th December 2027..."
(and yes, we have had guests book for the wrong year before - DOH!)

Charles Aunger this hasn't been requested before so isn't a major issue for most members. This is also a reason why we can't just change the existing tag to add the year as other members may not want this.
We could add a new message tag, for {check_in_year} or {check_in_date_year} which would be Day Month Year.

Interesting never been asshole would be a good variable to use for zapper as well so that you can have different pricing if your prices go up in the following year for things like pool heater extras you could automated using the variable

Vince Breslin - there's plenty of other feature requests for adding the year to the checkin/out date, and while the lack of a year in the tag content isn't a show stopper, it would definitely avoid confusion (see my reply to Dan above).
Yes please for a new {check_in_year}/{check_out_year} tag :)

Please please please can the check_in_date and check_out_date be updated to include to Day Month and Year since lots of changes happening YEAR would be usful to have filled automatically PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE this one has to be an easy change.
