Integrate with Square - No fees for refunds

Stripe is great but Square is way better because it does not keep its percentage when you do a refund. Stripe retains its percent and refunds the entire guest fee, which means hosts wind up paying 3% when there's a refund... and for a $5k reservation, that's a LOT!

yes please, we need another payment processor option. The refund fees that Stripe keep are ridiculous! I just lost $170 in fees on a cancelled subscription. We need a processor that does not keep fees OR the fees should be charged to the customer who cancels (less attractive option)

We all Need options and Should have a back-up gateway! 😤💡
1- Stripe just closed our account after conducting a routine review...
"found that it presents a high level of risk for customer disputes"
We have not yet received any disputes, and have all 5-star ratings!
2- Next they state "business does not meet our Terms of Service"...
Stripe support even recognizes AirBNB and Booking.com uses them, so there should be no issue, please file appeal.
3- We appealed, giving them every government document they requested and more for verification...
"account still presents an unacceptable level of risk"
You cannot call Stripe, and they only answer with generic boiler plate replies via e-mail; never thought I would find a company worse than Paypal!
Clearly, Stripe aren't interested in Short-Term Rentals (see restricted business in TOS).
Is Uplisting going to offer other payment processors like OwnerRez??-
We could still have stripe linked just for security deposits and identity verification, and also assign another company for accommodation payments. 🤓👍🙏

Please give us the option take payments manually in the interim and still be listed on VRBO, Booking.com, and Google.

Another one I would love to see is https://vacationrentpayment.com/ They can deal with chargebacks at high success rates

I had 2 $20,000+ cancellations. Stripe keeps the 3%!!

I just did a refund in STripe and on the website it said there were no fees for a refund?

Sandra Lee Fitch: Stripe is intentionally being unclear. That's a bunch of scammy marketing!! It's true that they don't "charge a refund fee" to process a refund, but you still paid the initial capture fee of 3% and they retain that and do not refund that capture fee. So if you charge a guest $100, Stripe will take their 3% and deposit $97 in your account. If you refund the charge, Stripe doesn't charge anything to process the refund, but they will keep that 3% that they initially charged, so they refund $100 back to the guest but keep the $3... So you are out $3 at the end of it all. Square, on the other hand, will actually refund that 3% and you are not out anything. I just had to refund a $7000 reservation and the owner just ate $215.

yes please! I generally use Venmo for a refund now and it takes an extra step.

laura oxman: Even if you do that, you still pay the 3% on the initial capture.
