Re-authorization of damage Deposit due to reduction in hold period and integration with Stripe

In case of failure to reauthorize damage deposit due to reduction in hold period the first damage deposit gets captured. As soon as this gets captured stripe charges a fee of 1.8% and sends the payment to the bank. When the deposit is refunded stripe recovers the deposit from the bank which means the host has to pay 2 sets of 1.8% fees. There should be a separate coding for capture of damage deposit so that the payment sits with stripe ready to be refunded and no fees are charged unless there is a manual intervention for real damages. This is adding an unnecessary cost to the business which can be avoided. The coding should be different for the capture of damage deposit in case of re=authorization.

Completely agree as well, or just make the hold period longer.

Completely agree. I am considering cancelling the security deposit feature as simply not worth the cost and administration inconvenience.
